What to do in San Giovanni al Natisone
If you are wondering what to do in San Giovanni al Natisone, here is a list of the main attractions.
Villa de Brandis
The museum occupies the premises on the first floor of the villa de Brandis, built between 1718 and 1724 and donated, with all the furnishings, to the Municipality of San Giovanni al Natisone by Countess Caterina de Brandis, the last descendant of the noble family. Villa de Brandis preserves important artistic collections such as the Picture Gallery, with paintings between the 14th and 20th centuries, and a large number of original wooden furnishings and interesting furnishings (16th-19th century). The family library (about six thousand volumes published between 1501 and 1980), the photographic archive and the papers of the noble archive are located in the Civic Library, adjacent to the rooms where the museum is located. On the back of Villa de Brandis there is a centuries-old park, designed according to the concept of an English park, with magnolias, palms, beeches, hornbeams, cedars, limes, large tuje and a suggestive central lake.

For those who love spiritual tourism we recommend a visit to the Church of the Madonna di Taviele a few hundred meters from our B&B. Also noteworthy is the church of San Giusto
The wine
For wine lovers, the territory of San Giovanni al Natisone is widely scattered with canitine and wineries where you can taste and buy the best Friulian wines.
Pietro Zorutti’s house
Finally, we always point out to Bolzano, the hamlet where our B&B is located the House of Pietro Zorutti where the well-known Friulian poet (1792-1867) lived for a long time, one of the greatest dialectal poets in Italy, the one who was able to represent in all its aspects Friuli. Here the poet, who loved to spend long periods in the serenity of the countryside, gave his first works to the press, including Strolic Furlan (the Friulian astrolode).
